Panagar cops nab drug peddler

On March 28, Panagar police nabbed one of the two drug peddlers and seized 45-kilograms Ganja amounting to Rs 4.50 lakh from him. The arrested named Prakash alias Vicky Pandey (24), son of Sukhdev Pandey, a resident of Jaiprakash Ward in Panagar disclosed the name of other drug peddler as Deepak Jain (32), son of Naresh Jain, a resident of Gurunanak Ward in Panagar who managed to escape from the spot
 
 
Panagar police succeeded in apprehending an absconding drug peddler and seized 23-kilograms Ganja amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh from him, on Tuesday. The arrested has been identified as Deepak Jain (30), son of Naresh Chandra Jain, a resident of Gurunanak Ward in Panagar. On March 28, Panagar police nabbed one of the two drug peddlers and seized 45-kilograms Ganja amounting to Rs 4.50 lakh from him. The arrested named Prakash alias Vicky Pandey (24), son of Sukhdev Pandey, a resident of Jaiprakash Ward in Panagar disclosed the name of other drug peddler as Deepak Jain (32), son of Naresh Jain, a resident of Gurunanak Ward in Panagar who managed to escape from the spot. Panagar police have registered a case under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act while a search was underway to arrest another accused. Continuing the search, police team led by SHO of Panagar police station, Dr. Ravindra Verma (IPS) succeeded in apprehending the drug peddler in Bhopal and took him in Jabalpur.
 
In the interrogation, the accused broke out and disclosed that he is working as drug peddler since 6-7 years and transporting Ganja from Odisha and Chhattisgarh. He informed that he brought consignment of Ganja through train, on March 27 and hide its separate packages at different places. On his identification, police team conducted search of his house and seized 23-kilograms Ganja from bathroom. Deepak Jain further informed that after escaping from Jabalpur he stayed in Delhi, Mathura and Bhopal. It was learnt that Deepak was arrested for drug peddling in year 2012 and was imprisoned for 11-months. He was again booked in Excise Act in year 2017. Panagar police have registered a case under Section 8, 20 of NDPS Act and sent the accused in judicial custody.
 
The drug peddler was arrested with active working of police team led by SHO, Panagar Dr Ravindra Verma (Probationary IPS), SI, Dilip Mishra, R R Dubey, DP Bhagat, ASI, S N Singh, Constables, Amit Shrivastava, Sushil Tripathi, Pushpendra, Vinod Sharma and Vikrant.
