Lokayukta police raid against co-operative bank manager

Raid unearths disproportionate assets, further action underway 
 
Bhopal Lokayukta police carried out raid against branch manager of a co-operative bank in Banapura town of Hoshangabad district on Wednesday. The searches were carried out at three places, first at branch office in Banapura, second at ancestral house of accused in Timarni town (Harda) and third at rented flat of accused in Nupur Kunj in Arera Colony of Bhopal.
 
Lokayukta police sources told to ‘The Hitavada’ that raid was conducted against manager of co-operative bank (Banapura-Hoshangabad) Satish Sitoke. The raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint that he earned disproportionate assets and his expenditure is too high against his valid income. His younger son is doing MBBS in Philippines.
 
“The raid was done at Banapura branch office of accused Satish Sitoke. Accused also has double-storied building in Timarni (Harda) and henceforth his house in Timarni was also covered in raid. Besides, accused has a flat in Nupur Kunj in Arera Colony and it too was also covered in raid. This flat is on rent and its inventory cost is more than Rs 4 lakh,” said Lokayukta police sources. The sources also added that piles of incriminating documents pertaining to properties have been confiscated and they are being examined. The seizure of cash and jewellery is very less. Cash below Rs 1 lakh has been recovered apart from some jewellery. It is learnt that accused is having eight acres of agriculture land in the name of his wife. The real picture of disproportionate assets would be clear by Thursday. The cost of unearthed properties is being cross checked.
