Tributes paid to martyred BJP leader, 4 others

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with Home Minister Tamradhawaj Sahu paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislator from Dantewada Bhima Mandavi, three police personnel including Head Constable Chhagan Kuldeep, Head Constable Ramlal Oyami, Constable Somda Kawasi and Danteshwar Maurya, the driver of the ill-fated bullet-proof vehicle in which Late Bhima Mandavi and police personnel were traveling and was ripped into pieces. Later rich tributes were paid to the martyred Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and police personnel at Dantewada Police Lines by DGP D M Awasthi, senior administrative and police officials and number of public representatives.
 
Ahead of the wreath laying ceremony, the Martyrs were paid Shok Shastra by the security forces. It is worth mentioning here that Dantewada Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislator Bheema Mandavi and the four police personnel were killed on Tuesday, when Maoists triggered a powerful blast using an IED which led to ripping of the vehicle in which late Mandavi and police personnel were traveling into pieces. The blast killed all the people in the vehicle. The incident took place near Shyamgiri hills falling under Kuwakonda police station limits, situated some 25 kms from the Dantewada district head-quarters.
 
After paying tributes to Late Bhima Mandavi and the martyred police personnel at police lines, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Home Minister Tamradhawaj Sahu chaired a meeting of senior officials from administrative, police and security forces and reviewed the security arrangement in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency and LWE infested areas in particular, as under the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, polling will be held in Bastar Lok Sabha on Thursday.
