Cong objects to Rajeev Verma’s name as State icon of poll panel

A delegation of Congress approached the Election Commission and took umbrage on appointment of actor Rajeev Verma as State icon on Thursday. Congress said that Rajeev Verma is Regional President of Sanskar Bharti, an institution of RSS. Congress told that as Rajeev Verma is connected with particular ideology hence his work in the role of State icon comes under question. Hence, he should be relieved from the charge of State icon of the Election Commission in Madhya Pradesh.
 
Congress said that in similar kind of case, Congress Lok Sabha candidate Prahalad Tipani had been removed by the Election Commission. The delegation was led by Media Co-ordinator to CM, Narendra Saluja. The delegation comprised Bhupendra Gupta, Vipin Wankhede, Ravi Saxena, Vivek Tripathi, Vikki Goyal etc. Notably, it was recently that the State Election Commission declared Rajeev Verma, Palak Mucchal etc as State icons.
