BRAVING the Naxal terror, the voters here started reaching the polling centers from early in the morning to cast their votes during the first phase of Lok Sabha polls 2019 on Thursday. A great enthusiasm was seen amongst the voters of Narayanpur which is Scheduled Tribe assembly constituency. Long queues of men and women voters were seen eagerly waiting outside the polling booths to exercise their franchise and validate their faith in democracy and ballot.

Collector as well as District Election Officer P S Elma visited the most sensitive polling centers including Mahka, Palki, Binjali, Guriya, Karlakha and Singoditarai and took stock of the arrangements made for the polling. Among the voters at Binjali-based polling booth was enthusiast Sitay Bai, an elderly woman.

Collector Elma helped her and appealed other voters to let the elderly persons cast their votes first. In the meantime, he also clicked a picture with Sitay Bai. Collector Elma remained at the Control Room and took stock of every little activity at the polling centers. The police administration was also seen working on their toes under the guidance of SP Mohit Garg for proper security arrangements of officials and workers engaged in polling work. The Collector also exercised his voting right and cast his vote by standing in the queue along with other voters and waited for his turn at the Higher Secondary School-48. After casting his vote, the Collector also clicked a selfie at the selfie zone.
