2 men held with pistol, live cartridge, 22 Chinese knives

A COMBINED team of Crime Branch and Kotwali police nabbed two miscreants and seized a pistol, a live cartridge and 22 Chinese knives from them. The accused has been identified as Rohit Raikwar (19), son of Devi Singh Raikwar, a resident of near Mannulal Hospital, Dixitpura and Rahul Sahu alias Kala (21), son of Shriram Sahu, native of Manju Teli Ki Gully, Dixitpura and currently lived at Brajmohan Nagar, Rampur. Superintendent of Police Nimish Agrawal (IPS) informed this while addressing a press conference on Friday.
 
SP Agrawal informed that in order to maintain law and order arrangements during Lok Sabha election-2019 police started a special campaign against listed criminals and anti-social elements for strict enforcement of model code of conduct under supervision of Additional SP (City), Rajesh Tripathi, Additional SP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel, CSPs. Continuing the special campaign, Crime Branch received information about two suspects sighted with imported sharp-edged weapons in Dixitpura area. Taking prompt action on the information, a team of Crime Branch and Kotwali police started search and succeeded in apprehending a miscreant named Rohit Raikwar. In his search, police team seized 12 Chinese knives from him. Similarly, acting on a tip-off,police team trapped a wanted criminal named Rahul Sahu alias Kala near Ram Mandir in Dixitpura who was absconding in a case registered under Sections 327, 294, 323, 506 and 34 of the IPC. On his identification, police seized a pistol loaded with a live cartridge and 10 Chinese knives. Kotwali police have registered separate cases against accused under Section 25 of Arms Act and Section 25 and 27 of Arms Act, while further investigations are underway to identify the source of receiving firearms.
 
The accused were apprehended with active efforts of police team led by SHO of Kotwali police station, R K Malviya, Crime Branch’s Head Constables, Dhananjay Singh, Vijay Shukla, Pramod Pandey, Kailash Mishra, Constables, Mohit Upadhyay, Anand Tiwari, Khuman Singh, Anil Sharma, Ramgopal, Pankaj Sanodia and others.
