   Date :13-Apr-2019

Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has taken three persons of OSMO IT Solutions on a three-day police remand for interrogation on Friday. Out of three persons, two are Directors and one is Managing Director of the company. They will be grilled in connection with alleged tempering done in e tenders. Meanwhile, EOW is also trying to tighten noose on others in connection with e tender scam, said to be of crores of rupees. Director General of EOW K N Tiwari told ‘The Hitavada’ that three persons, including two Directors and one Managing Director of OSMO IT Solutions, have been taken on three-day police remand. Notably, it was on Thursday that EOW searched the office of OSMO IT Solutions in State capital and later arrested the trio Vinay Chaudhary, Varun Chaturvedi and Sumit Golvalkar.

EOW Department is investigating nine tenders of five departments, including PWD, Jal Nigam, MP Road Corporation, Water Resources Department and PIU. It has been alleged that e-tenders were tempered by seven companies and some unscrupulous elements have helped them in extending the benefit to them. The e-tenders filed by other companies were opened and the bid prices were changed to benefit the interested company. This work was done clandestinely after illegally obtaining the digital signatures. The e-tender scam surfaced during Shivraj government and the government immediately scrapped the entire e tender process and invited fresh e tenders. BJP is saying that no scam took place as no work was awarded to any company and no payment was done. But EOW is saying that even the dishonest attempt made to garner benefit comes under the category of crime and hence it is investigating the e-tender scam. Now, EOW is fathoming that nine e tenders under scanner may be the tip of the iceberg of major scam done in the name of e-tender process and hence it is contemplating to increase its probe area. In other words, e tender process started under Shivraj rule is likely to come under the scrutiny and many former ministers may face the heat in the case.
