The festival of Ram Navami was celebrated with religious fervour in Durg city on Saturday. Devotees performed hawan and other rituals and celebrated Lord Ram’s birthday. ‘Kannya pujan’ and mass feasts were also held in various temples and houses to mark the festivity. Temples were decked up with flowers and devotional articles. Rush of devotees was witnessed at Sattichaura Durga Mandir, Chandi Mandir Mathpara, Shetala Mandir, Baiga Para and various other Lord Ram temples.
 
The nine day Navratra Mahotsav of the Satti Choura Maa Durga Mandir Ganjpara Durg also concluded on Saturday. Meanwhile, to mark the occasion of Ram Navami, Shri Ramjamutsav was celebrated at the temple. Samiti member Bunty Sharma informed that 56 bhog was organized in the evening followed by the havan from 8.00 pm and distribution of prasad.
 
The rituals of Mahabhishek, havan, poojan, aarti were performed by Narendra Suman Sharma in the presence of Acharya Vikrant Dubey, Pundit Akash Dubey and chief priest of the temple Sunil Pandit for the nine days. The jyoti kalsh visarjan program will be held on Sunday from 4.00 pm. Present were Manoj Bhutda, Suresh Bhutda, Narendra Gupta, Ashok Rathi, Manoj Gupta, Mahendra Sahu, Kuleshwar Sahu, Mahesh Tawri, Raju Purohti, Shishu Shukla, Arjit Shukla, Prakash Kashyap, Prabha Sharma, Anita Agrawal, Sarita Sharma, Chanchal Sharma, Saroj Joshi, Sunita Agrawal, Lata Sharma and others.
