Commissioning of VVPAT, EVMs from today

Commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) for Raipur Lok Sabha seat will be commencing from Monday. To be mentioned, Raipur Lok Sabha seat will go to poll on April 23. District Collector and Returning Officer Dr Basavaraju S, and Raipur District Panchayat CEO and Assistant Returning Officer Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh on Sunday visited BTI Ground, Dani Girls’ School and Government Engineering College Sejbahar to take stock of the preparations ahead of the commissioning of the VVPAT and EVMs.
The Returning Officer also took stock of the preparations being made for the distribution of VVPATs and EVMS on April 22. A car rally will be organised in the capital on April 17 to create awareness among voters. The significance of the rally is that only women can participate in it. The District Collector said that all the women drivers of the car will be felicitated after the rally and the most beautiful car will be awarded SVEEP Best Car prize. The rally would be a huge one which will start from BTI Ground, Shankar Nagar and culminate at Government Science College ground after covering the main roads of the city.
As per schedule, the car rally will start at 4 pm on April 17. Registration for the participation in the rally has begun and interested women can contact District Panchayat, Women and Child Development Department, District Public Relations office. Besides, interested women can contact 9754681155 for registration. The last date for registration is April 16 at 5 pm. Besides, a ramp walk will be held at Katora Talab on April 16 at 5.30 pm to create awareness about voting. Meanwhile, a rally was organised at Anupam Garden where ADM Ashutosh Pandey flagged off the rally.
