Staff Reporter Raipur:

Bangali Samaj Chhattisgarh urged Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for action against Dr Hemant Kashyap for using derogatory words against Bengalis. A delegation of the Samaj submitted a memorandum to the District Collector of Raipur, addressing to the Chief Minister, on Monday. In the memorandum, Samaj members mentioned that Dr Kashyap is running a clinic at Pamgarh in Surguja district. A Bengali man, who used to deal with ‘jadi-buti’ medicines in the same area, used to serve the people.

In an application submitted by Dr Kashyap to the Chief Minister through the Jan-darshan programme, he wrote that the ‘farzi’ (fake) Bangali doctors should be punished and removed from Chhattisgarh. The application later reached the Directorate Health Services. Bangali Samaj further mentioned in the memorandum that the Deputy Director, Health Services, should not have moved the application of Dr Kashyap forward which was apparently an insult to a community. He should have rectified the application as fake doctors can be from any community. It is wrong target an entire community, Samaj members wrote in the memorandum to the Collector.

The District Collector assured the Samaj that he will forward the memorandum to the Chief Minister. Samaj members Vivek Bardhan, Shiv Dutta and others said that they will file a first information report at the Civil Lines Police Station if action is not taken against the guilty within four days.
