The admission process of children of poor families in private schools under Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, will be initiated from May 15, 2019. Prior to the aforesaid date, the private schools have to disclose about their fee structure on the education portal.

Only after that, the children would be enrolled in the private schools under RTE Act. On the basis of these details, the Government would reimburse the fee amount to the private institutions. If the schools’ administration failed to feed the fee details on the portal within stipulated time period, they will remain deprived of fee reimbursement. Simultaneously, if any school has hiked it’s fee, the administration has to clear the reason for doing so.

This order issued by the Rajya Shiksha Kendra has added to the private schools owners’ worries. Although the private schools’ owners had to feed their fee structure on the education portal for seeking affiliation, they have to mention about their hiked fee with the reasons for increasing the same this year. It may be mentioned that, the private schools annually hike their fee structure at their will. Now these schools would have the liability to disclose the reasons based on which they increased their fee.
