NIT Raipur’s MED elected as Intl Student Chapter for SME

Department of Mining Engineering (MED), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, scripted history by being elected as a Student Chapter for SME and joined the list of IIT ISM, IIT BHU and IIT KGP as SME student chapters. Society of Mining Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) has elected NIT Raipur as an International Student Chapter on 5th April 2019.
 
SME is a member-driven society representing students and professionals serving the mining industry in almost 100 countries. Members of SME are engineers, geologists, educators, students, and researchers. Department Of Mining Engineering NIT Raipur makes a big milestone by achieving this feat as it will help the students to grab internship opportunities and jobs at the mining industry located globally.
 
The students will also be benefitted by various scholarships at international level. The student chapter has been established under the guidance of faculty advisor Dr Pankaj Dewangan and Dr Ashish Dash. The office bearer includes Prince Kumar (President and Founder), Rajnikant Kumar (Vice-President), Raushan Kumar(Secretary SARC), Suyash Sinha (Secretary), Indransh Bhadauria (Treasurer), Ankit Sharma (Technical Head), Praveer Pandey (Human Resources), Smriti Paikra (Drafting Head), Sameer Kumar Sahoo (Marketing Head), Ajit Inayinan (Event Management) and Abhishek Bhattacharya (Designing Head)
