Physical verification of farms exposes fake registrations

Process of physical verification of farms registered by farmers for wheat procurement has exposed various fake registration and foiled bid to take undue benefits of the system of wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) given by Government to farmers. As per instructions of Collector Chhavi Bharadwaj, SDM Jabalpur Namahshivaya Arjaria carried out investigation and found that in documents where cropping is mentioned in physical verification colony and hotel building construction was found. This exposed the false registration for Wheat procurement in the district. While with involvement of Staff of committee the gazing land was registered for procurement.
 
According to SDM Jabalpur, Arjaria informed that in the physical verification of registrations carried out Tuesday, a different case came to fore. In this case Anil Goyal had declared himself a farmer and registered for 32.31 hectare of land with Barela Vrahatakar Society for Wheat crop. When physically verified, it was found that at only four hectares of land the crop of wheat was sown and in rest area Anil Goyal had developed a colony and resort. In a similar case in village Rampur Naktia, farmer Jhadu Lal's six acre land was registered for Wheat crop. The land was found padat land. In this case also involvement of Samiti officials surfaced. Farmer Jhadu Lal during verification in his statement to SDM has alleged that some other person had done registration in his name. In village Saliwada, during physical verification of case related to registration of Balkrishna Sethi was done for Wheat crop on the e-procurement portal. But the land was found Padat bhoomi in land records. In village Seoni Tola in a case during verification two registration for the same land were taken by Sukhlal Patel and his son on e-portal.
 
In this way above 24 hectare area procurement was found. In Seoni Tola in another case registration was done in the name of six farmers for contract farming. In verification non of the farmers were found present in the village neither any villagers have identified them as farmer of their village. SDM Jabalpur informed that for intentional behaviour to give losses to public exchequer the false registration and misguiding works done by people by declaring themselves as farmers strict action would be taken against them as per law. 75-year-old woman duped of Rs 24.40 lakh when she reached the bank to withdraw her monthly pension, a sum of Rs 16,60,000 from Dena Bank account and another sum of Rs 7,80,000 was withdrawn from SBI account.
 
All her FD were broken and the money was deposited in the saving bank account by Shrivastava. After having suffered a shock, she sought information from Shrivastava about her credentials that were given to him. The accused also is in possession with Post office passbook and banks’ passbooks. The accused issued threat of dire consequences if she again insisted for the return of her bank credentials. On the basis of statement recorded, cops have registered a case under Section 420, 406, 506 of IPC against the accused named as Abhay Raj Shrivastava. A massive hunt has been started to apprehend the accused.
