Bhagat ousted on charges of indiscipline

Finally, BJP expelled rebel Member of Parliament (MP) from Balaghat, Bodh Singh Bhagat from party on Thursday. BJP State President Rakesh Singh ousted him from party on the charges of indiscipline. Notably, Bodh Singh Bhagat was adamant to contest Lok Sabha election from Balaghat and had recently filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate after party denied ticket to him. Now, BJP is trying to consolidate the political equations in the light of Bodh Singh Bhagat contesting Lok Sabha election as an Independent candidate in Balaghat. His influence among people could not be denied, therefore, BJP fears that Bodh Singh Bhagat may be able to make dent into the party’s vote bank.

Hence, it is working in clandestine manner how to protect its vote bank in Balaghat. When contacted, BJP Balaghat District President Ramesh Ranglani told ‘The Hitavada’ that Bodh Singh Bhagat had filed his nomination papers as independent candidate on April 9 and he had resigned from party’s membership on same day. On being asked whether rebel Bodh Singh Bhagat may prove threat to the BJP, Ramesh Ranglani told that there is Modi wave in Balaghat and people want to see second term for Modi government. People are not seeing the face of candidate, rather they have faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Henceforth, Bodh Singh Bhagat is not a threat to the BJP. Notably, BJP has fielded ex-MLA Dhal Singh Bisen as its candidate in Balaghat Lok Sabha constituency. Actually, Bodh Singh Bhagat was the front-runner for Balaghat Lok Sabha ticket in BJP but ex-agriculture minister Gaurishankar Bisen through spanner by demanding ticket to his daughter Mausam. Cold war between both of them left BJP in quandary. BJP leadership preferred to play safe and gave ticket to Dhal Singh Bisen, who was nowhere in the race for ticket. Notably, Congress has fielded Madhu Bhagat from Balaghat Lok Sabha constituency.
