Lokayukta police catch Patwari, former Kotwar taking bribe

In another trap, Lokayukta Police team caught a Patwari and a former Kotwar while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 for delimitation of land in Panagar, on Monday. The accused have been identified as Devendra Khare, posted as Patwari Halka No-19 in Panagar and Ashok Kumar Dahiya, former Kotwar of Devri Kalan village, a resident of Vivekanand Ward, Panagar.
 
The officers of Lokayukta police nabbed the accused when they were taking bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant named Beni Prasad Kushwaha, a resident of Vinoba Bhave Ward, Panagar. According to Lokayukta police, receiving the complaint from Beni Prasad Kushwaha that, he submitted application for demarcation of land in Panagar but Patwari, Devendra Khare and former Kotwar, Ashok Kumar Dahiya demanded bribe of Rs 5,000 for demarcation of land. Lokayukta police team conducted a secret inquiry of the complaint and trapped the corrupt Patwari and former Kotwar while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, while further investigations are underway.
 
During the trap, Lokayukta police team comprised DSP, J P Verma, Inspector, Oscar Kindo, Constables, Sharad Pandey, Amit Gavade, Rakesh Vishwakarma and Sagar Sonkar.
