NBA activists meet Minister Baghel, demand rehabilitation of oustees

A delegation of Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), led by Alok Agrawal, met Narmada Valley Development Minister Surendra Singh Baghel and demanded adequate rehabilitation of people who got displaced due to Narmada dam on Monday. The delegation said that issue pertaining to proper rehabilitation of dam oustsees is lingering from decades. Alok Agrawal, who is also State President of AAP, told that people displaced due to Omkareshwar and other dams of Narmada river are fighting for their rights from last thirty years. But it is a matter of concern that they did not get justice till date.
 
Henceforth, it is need of the hour that Government should show sensitive approach over the issue and start joint exercise so that displaced people could be rehabilitated in toto. Minister Surendra Singh Baghel said that after Lok Sabha elections, he will start a joint process to ensure that displaced people should get their due right. The NBA delegation comprised of Chitraroopa Palit, Ajay Goswami, Antar Singh, Sohanlal Patel and Ramkumar Rawat.
