Jyotiraditya Scindia holds grand roadshow after filing papers

CONGRESS General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia filed nomination papers for traditional Guna-Shivpuri Lok Sabha constituency in Shivpuri on Saturday. After filing nomination, a mega roadshow of 100 kms from Guna to Shivpuri was organised. Scindia was accompanied by wife Priyadarshini Raje during the procession and filing nomination. Former Union Minister Scindia performed puja at Tekari Sarkar temple in the morning and paid tributes to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue at Guna before the roadshow. Hundreds of supporters on four-wheelers and Congress workers were in the cavalcade. Thousands of Congress workers and supporters and people were present.
 
After reaching Shivpuri, sitting MP from Guna constituency Scindia went to the Collectorate to file nomination papers before Returning Officer and Collector of Shivpuri Anugrah P along with wife and supporters. Addressing a rally at Gandhi Park Maidan, Shivpuri, Scindia scion said that this election was to remove intolerance, unemployment, farmers’ problems and returning democracy in the country. “My voice will not stop against those who are fake and jumlebaaz (fake promises). My fight for farmers and youngsters of the State will continue, said Scindia while attacking Modi Government.
 
“Works accomplished in the area in last 17 years were not done as an MP but as a family member. Development works which have been done in the constituency is not an obligation but it is my duty,” he added. Scindia is fourth-term MP from Guna-Shivpuri constituency since 2002, by-election conducted after his father, Madhav Rao Scindia’s death. The seat is considered to be a bastion of erstwhile Scindia family. “Politics, the post, the chair and the beacon are not important for us but your love and my place in your heart is crucial,” Scindia added. Former MP Minister Rakesh Choudhary joined again Congress, he joined BJP in 2013 when he was deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
