One killed, another injured in road mishap

A four-wheeler recklessly driven by a girl hit a motorcycle leaving a youth dead and two others severely injured in Naya Raipur on Saturday. The fatal road accident took place at Sector-30 in Naya Raipur under Rakhi police station, police said. Police further informed that the accused girl Khusboo Tiwari, a resident of Pandri under Civil Lines police station and studying in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, has been arrested in connection with the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Kumar Kurre (22) while injured are Gajendra Kumar and Preet Kumar, all resident of village Pacheda under Rakhi police limits. Detailing about the accident, police said that while heading towards IIM in Naya Raipur from the city, the car driven by Khusboo Tiwari hit a motorcycle coming from opposite direction leaving Jitendra dead on the spot while two others injured at Sector-30. The duo reportedly with multiple fractures rushed to Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur for treatment where they are under medical observation.
An offence against the accused girl has been registered under Section 304A of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which amounting to causing death by negligence, police said, adding that further investigation in the case is under way.
