Two held with live cartridges, pistol

Madhotal police have nabbed two accused and seized two pistols and two live cartridges from them. The accused have been identified as Amit Joshi (30), son of Sanju alias Robin Joshi, a resident of Ambedkar Colony, Adhartal and Devansh alias Nanu Jain (21), son of Dinesh Jain, a resident of New Colony, Cherital. SHO of Madhotal police station, Anil Gupta informed this while addressing a press conference, on Saturday. It may be noted that under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Nimish Agrawal (IPS) police have started the campaign to put-up vigilant check on illegal use of fire arms for strict enforcement of Election Model Code of Conduct under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, Additional SP (South), Dr. Sanjeev Uike, Additional SP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel and CSPs. During the campaign, Madhotal police received information about two suspects while threatening residents near bus stand. Acting promptly on the information, police started a search and sight the accused near bus stand. Witnessing the police team, miscreants started running away from the spot in different directions.
 
A police team succeeded in catching the miscreant named Amit Joshi near public toilet and seized a pistol loaded with a live cartridge in its magazine. Similarly, another team continued chasing for another accused and cordoned the area near Tridev Convent School.
 
 
After a long chase, alert cops managed to catch another accused named Devansh alias Nanu Jain and seized a pistol loaded with live cartridge in magazine. Madhotal police have registered a case against the accused under Section 25/27 of Arms Act while further investigations are underway to identify the source of receiving lethal fire arms and reason behind possessing the guns. Accused were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, Anil Gupta comprised of SI, D. R. Ben, Head Constables, Swadesh Gupta, Panchamlal Gupta, Radheshyam Rai, Basori Lal, Constables, Shailendra Patwa, Shashi Prakash, Ashwini Dwivedi, Ravi Verma, Mahesh Pandey, Vinit, Rambharose Sahu, Santosh Kumar and Vijay Nagar’s Head Constable, Rajesh Verma.
