Mercury soars in many parts of State

With sky becoming clear, mercury has started to soar across Madhya Pradesh. Once again, heat is back. Sweltering heat is making people sweat and is hiting life hard. Though mercury level is on rising trend, maximum temperature is still one or two degrees below normal. Weather department said that highest maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khargone. Bhopal’s maximum temperature reached till 38.1 degrees Celsius.
 
Then also it was 1 degree below normal. The minimum temperature was 22.4 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal. Jabalpur recorded maximum temperature at 38.3 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal level. Indore’s maximum temperature was 38 degrees Celsius and it was also 2 degrees below normal. Weather Department added that weather conditions continue to remain dry. It is Rewa division where maximum temperatures increased substantially. Maximum temperature was substantially below normal level in Chambal division. Shahdol, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior division’s maximum temperature were below normal mark.
 
There is no warning for any part of State in forecast of Weather Department. Local forecast for Bhopal says that city’s sky will remain clear and maximum temperature will be around 39 degrees Celsius. Sunday was bright in State capital and people felt pinch of heat. By noon, heat was almost unbearable due to blazing sun. The Weather Department Duty Officer told ‘The Hitavada’ that a few days back temperature nosedived due to rainfall at some places. Though temperature is rising but even then it will take time for mercury to reach till normal level. Day after tomorrow many places of State will be having maximum temperature around or above 40 degrees Celsius. As of now, there is no heat wave and there is no chance of heat wave for couple of days in State.
