Raipur police, CRPF stage flag march

Spreading strong and clear message that there would be no mercy shown to trouble makers and mongers, two companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Raipur police on Sunday staged a flag march. The flag march, which commenced from Police Lines and traversed well in all the directions, sent a strong message that any type of nuisance in the State capital during election will not be tolerated and trouble makers will be dealt with iron hand. “The objective behind staging flag march was to instil confidence among public. The march also flag-shipped the resounding message of formidable, yet a swift response, by the forces, in case of any trouble triggered during the pre or post poll scenario in the city,” Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Prafull Kumar Thakur told The Hitavada.
 
The ASP (City) further informed that two companies of CRPF attired in full anti-riot gear along with personnel from 10 police stations covered sensitive and hyper-sensitive areas of the Capital City. As many as fifty vehicles participated in the flag march. Almost, all the Additional, City and Deputy Superintendents of Police, along with Station House Officers (SHOs), Police Outpost In-Charge and Constabulary took part in the march that covered 25 km radius of the capital city.
 
According to ASP Thakur, after the flag march commenced from Police Lines at 4 pm, security personnel covered localities and area under police station including Tikrapara, Purani Basti, Azad Chowk, Gudhiyari, Khamtarai, Ganj, Devendra Nagar and Telibandha, it culminated at its point of origin late evening. “The forces confidently moved in through every congested landmark, narrow by-lanes, thoroughfares, localities and roads in several parts covered during both the phases of the march,” the ASP explained. Throughout the march, the CRPF personnel closely collected information about polling centres and booths of Raipur, which would go for polls in the third phase on April 23.
