Air ambulance in Jabalpur in first phase of polling

Chief Electoral Officer V L Kanta Rao told that, in first phase of Lok Sabha elections in State, air ambulance will be stationed in Jabalpur on April 28 and April 29. It will be used in cases of emergency. Apart from this, two choppers of defence will also be available for first round of polling in State.
 
One chopper will be stationed in Balaghat. While addressing press conference, V L Kantarao also informed that, as many as ten persons are behind bars under NSA and such inmates will be provided opportunity to exercise their voting right through postal ballot. He also informed that BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate for Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has submitted her reply in connection with her controversial statement over Hemant Karkare and it is being examined. However, she is yet to reply on second notice. Answering to a question, he told that total seizure has reached till Rs 46 crore in State.
 
Around Rs 19 crore cash has been seized apart from seizure of liquor worth Rs 11 crore, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 5 crore and drugs worth Rs 5 crore. In the meantime, preventive action has been taken against 1.25 lakh people. In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be conducted under fourth phase at national level, 85 companies of Central Security Force, 38 companies of Madhya Pradesh Armed Force, 2210 police officers, 11,191 head constables and constables, 5,829 home guards and 3,892 special police officers will be deployed in first round of polling.
