Illegal kilns of country liquor raided

A TEAM of Excise Department raided several illegal kilns of country liquor in Circle 5 and 7 and seized 17,000 kilograms of raw material and 90 litres liquor stock on Tuesday. Excise Department has registered total 14 cases of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act-1915. Under the direction of Collector and District Returning Officer Chhavi Bharadwaj, District Excise Department has started a special campaign under the supervision of Additional Commissioner, Excise Department, Depam Raychura to put vigilant check on illegal trade and transportation of liquor for strict enforcement of model code of conduct in the district. Assistant Commissioner Depam Raychura informed that during the campaign they received information about illegal operation of kilns for production of country liquor at different locations of Circle 5 and 7.
 
 
Acting promptly on the information, separate teams of Excise Department led by Excise Control Room, Incharge, Ramji Pandey raided identified spots at Sannikat and Jaithari villages in Gatheri, Temarbhita and Kharhar Ghat and banks of river Gaur near border areas of Kundam development block. In the raids, Excise Department team took samples of raw materials and destroyed 17,000 kilograms raw materials and 90 litres illegal stock of country liquor.
 
 
Excise Department has registered total 14 cases under Sections 34(1)A and 34(1)C of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act-1915 while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the persons engaged in illegal operation of kilns. Illegal liquor kilns were busted with active working of Excise Department team comprising Assistant District Excise Officer, G L Maravi, G D Lahauria, Bharti Gond, Excise Sub Inspector, Ravindra Jain, Jitendra Jain, Neeraj Dubey, Sudhir Mishra, Shweta Singh Tiwari, Ravishankar Maravi, Ravishankar Yadav, Ramayan Dwivedi and Excise Constables.
