“INDIA proved its might and competence with the air strike in Balakot, Pakistan. We succeeded in getting diplomatic success by segregating Pakistan from Islamic countries and the world. Only Modi Government can secure the nation. Modi Government is necessary for country’s security, stability and development,” said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj while addressing intellectual convention organised by BJP in Rewa and Satna on Wednesday. Coming down heavily on the Congress, the Union Minister said, “Opposition leaders say that air strike was a drama. They seek evidence of Army’s valour. By saying such things they honour the terrorists.

They do not deserve your votes. The country cannot be safe under such leaders.” Sushma Swaraj further claimed that the Modi Government has lived up to people’s expectations. First expectation is country’s security and on this plank, Modi Government has proved its mettle. Government taught a befitting lesson to Pakistan. As far as development is concerned then the country has done immense progress in last five years. The country is emerging as sixth economy in world.

During Congress regime, there were only 40 per cent toilets in the country and now the percentage has increased to 98 per cent. In five years, 13 crore gas connections have been distributed and of them 6 crore gas connections have been given free to women. Optic fibre line network has been laid down in 1.16 lakh villages. In 2014, there were only two mobile factories which have now increased to 127. Earlier, there were only 77 passport centres and 505 new pass port offices have been opened under the governance of PM Modi. Apart from this, 14 AIIMS and 118 medical colleges have been also opened. Recounting expansion of facilities in education field, she stated that the Government also worked towards 10 per cent reservation to economically weaker section of general class in society.

Constitutional status has been provided to Backward Class Commission. Income tax limit has been raised to 5 lakh to provide relief to middle class. PM Modi washed feet of sanitation workers during Prayagraj Kumbh and this thing has become history. She praised party’s Rewa candidate Janardhan Mishra by saying that he is having record of visiting 2700 villages. On the occasion, BJP Rewa Lok Sabha candidate Janardhan Mishra, former minister Rajendra Shukla, MLA Panchulal Prajapati, Divyaraj Singh, K P Tripathi and other BJP leaders were also present.
