Facilities under one roof for cattles

UNDER most ambitious project Narawa, Garava, Ghurva and Baadi Yojana of the State Government, village Mungval in Bhanupratappur block and village Karramadh in Durgukondal are being developed as model Gothan, where enough facilities will be made available for cattle. A Gharuva under the project is being constructed in Gothan for manufacturing organic fertilizer. Besides, provision has also been made for repairing drains.
 
Gothan Samiti will look after activities in Gothan while Agricultural, Animal Husbandry and Horticulture departments besides Janpad Panchayat will shoulder the responsibility for the success of scheme. Bhanupratappur Janpad Panchayat CEO G R Dhurve said that as many as 11 gothans will be constructed in 55 panchayats under Bhanupratappur block. These panchayats include Mungval, Kevti, Tedhai, Kondal, Bhainsa Kanhar, Kanechur, Chichgaon, Tuegahan, Branskud, Bhediya and Kachhe. Work for construction of Model Gothan is under process in Mungval.
 
It is expected to complete by April 30. Durgukondal Janpad Panchayat CEO K Vishwanath Reddy said Karramad, Lohattar, Hatkondal, Pedavari, Tarhul, Kodekurse and Manghur are the villages where gothan will be constructed. Karramad is being developed as a place of model gothan under the directions of Sarpanch Bartin Bai and Secretary K R Baghel. According to Reddy, gothan will have all facilities for cattle and will help in getting rid of maverick cattle. Narwva, Garwa, Gurwa and Badi are also included in the scheme, said Reddy.
 
Gothan is to be constructed in all villages but work is being done in selected villages at present. Gothan samiti will take decisions for gothan and villagers will also be responsible for the success of scheme. Panchayat Secretary Baghel said that 3 to 5 acres land is needed for gothan while pasture will require nine acres of land. Shed, boundary wall, road, platform, soakpit, tube-well and solar panel will be covered in first phase while community shed, urine collection chamber, fencing wire, fodder storage and burner tank will be in second phase.
