Four ultras surrender in Sukma

FOUR ultras including three carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each surrendered before Superintendent of Police D S Maravi and Additional SP Shalabh Sinha. The Naxals cited the reasons for surrender for being fed-up with hollow ideology of Maoists and harassment of top cadres. Impressed with surrender and rehabitation policy of state government, the Naxals intended to join main stream of society.
 
According to police, the Naxals surrendered have been identified as Militia Commander in Arampalli Panchayat Vetti Malla, Militia Commander in Nayalendra Panchayat Sodhi Lachcha, Dandkaranya Adivashi Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan President Mudam Hurra and Militia Member Rawa Hunga.Vetti, Sodhi and Mudam were each carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh.
 
Vetti became a part of Naxal organisation in the year 2001 and was involved in abducting and murder of villagers. He also used to loot ration meant for police personnel in Polampalli police station besides planting Improvised Explosive Device to harm security forces. The court has issued 31 permanent warrants for his arrest. Sodhi was involved in firing at police camps unde Konta police station limits besides charring the vehicles and loot of ration for police party.
 
Mudam joined Naxal organization in 2004 after coming into contact with former Pamed Area Committee Secretary Jaggu alias Madanna. He worked as Janmilitia member, Platoon number 9 member and in South Bastar battalion. In 2012, he left battalion and went back to village, where Naxal Commander Linge appointed him as DAKMS President. Hunga joined Naxal organization through Dornapal Local Operating Squad (LOS) Commander Ramesh and worked as Janmilitia member. He used to arrange ration for Naxals besides working as sentry for them.
 
Further operation will be launched based on information obtained from Naxals about their organization. The surrendered Naxals will be benefitted with surrender and rehabitation policy of state government.
