Heat wave in city

On Saturday, Bhopal city recorded maximum temperature at 42 degrees Celsius which was three degrees above normal and minimum temperature was at 25 degrees Celsius. Wind velocity was recorded at 18 km per hour. Meteorological Department has issued heat wave warning for Indore and Hoshangabad divisions. Khargone recorded highest temperature at 47 degree Celsius. In last twenty four hours, heat wave conditions were witnessed at Sagar, Hoshangabad and Indore divisions. Hot weather conditions are likely to continue for next forty eight hours. Relative humidity recorded was 23 %. For next twenty four hours temperature is expected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the State and no major fluctuations is expected. Indore region witnessed temperature much above the normal range. Mainly sky will be clear and partly cloudy weather condition is expected in some areas.
 
City is witnessing heat wave conditions during afternoon and humid condition is making weather uncomfortable for the people. Indore recorded maximum of 42.3 degrees Celsius temperature which was two degrees above the normal and minimum of 24.8 degrees Celsius which was one degree above the normal. Gwalior recorded maximum of 42.5 degrees Celsius and minimum of 25.1 degrees Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum 42.7 degree Celsius temperature which was one degree above the normal range and minimum of 25.5 degrees Celsius. Severe heat wave conditions are expected in many parts of the state. For many students Saturday was the last day to attend classes as summer vacations have started bringing them much-needed respite from hot weather.
 
Most of the regions across the State recorded higher day temperatures around 42-43 degree Celsius. The trend of gradual increase in temperatures would continue and the temperatures are reaching towards the mark of peak this summer. Among the regions with higher temperatures Naugaon and Damoh, Khajuraho recorded day temperature at 44 degree Celsius. Khandwa recorded maximum temperature at 40 degree Celsius. The relief could be witnessed after two days and it would provide a little relief not significant change should be expected.
