“Lok Sabha elections 2019 bring a wave of change to change the destiny of Jabalpur and improving the lifestyle of residents. Jabalpur has lagged behind in last 25-years due to absence of development plan, vision and its execution. Despite having tremendous potential of exploring tourism, sports, education, defence and agricultural industries, the State Government and Member of Parliament have failed in utilisation of potentials. I have sole motive and vision of developing Jabalpur by utilising my connections to bring advanced medical facilities, industrial and educational institutions in Jabalpur to explore new employment opportunities and improving quality of education”, said Vivek Krishna Tankha, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), and Congress candidate for Jabalpur Parliamentary Constituency, addressing a press conference on Saturday.

Tankha said that he has emotional attachment with Jabalpur and always made efforts for materialising his dreams with overall development of the city. Politics is just a platform for me to work for the city and its residents. He already brought PayTM in Jabalpur before political career and prepared a project to establish international level football stadium in the city. Chief Minister Kamal Nath fulfilled his demand by organising Cabinet meeting in Jabalpur and approved development projects of Rs 2,700 crore, he added.

Tankha lauded his son Varun Tankha and termed him better speaker than him during his election campaign. As a youngster, Varun conveyed his message amongst first-time voters and youngsters in a better way. He informed that around 10,000 youngsters are migrating from Jabalpur every year due to absence of quality education and employment opportunities. He expressed disappointment over deplorable condition of city due to unwillingness of senior public representatives. In last 25-years, BJP candidates represented the district in the Parliament but failed in understanding the need of city and improving the lifestyle of residents. Lambasting the BJP Government, Congress candidate charged PM Modi of not making any declaration for Jabalpur during his public meeting at Garrison Ground.

He charged that the concept of Smart City is impractical as the Central Government and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation are exhausting public money for development of only 3-4 wards in the name of developing Smart City. Development of any city needs vision to fulfil basic needs of residents and providing them advanced facilities of medical, education and employment opportunity. Vivek Tankha informed that his election manifesto for Vision Jabalpur is based to ensure overall development of Jabalpur and extended appeal towards residents to give him an opportunity to materialise their dreams.
