300 quarters liquor seized in Excise raid

Continuing a rigorous campaign, Excise Department raided a house and seized 300 quarters of country liquor in Jujhari village in Gosalpur, on Sunday. Excise Department has registered a case against the accused named Lallu Barman (24), son of Ramratan, a resident of Jujhari village in Gosalpur. It may be mentioned that, under the direction of Collector and District Returning Officer, Chhavi Bharadwaj, District Excise Department has started a special campaign under the supervision of Additional Commissioner, Excise Department, Depam Raychura to put up a vigilant check on illegal trade and transportation of liquor for strict enforcement of Election Model Code of Conduct in the district.
 
Assistant Commissioner, Depam Raychura informed that, taking prompt action on an information, a team of Excise Department conducted a surprise inspection at farmhouse of Lallu Barman and seized illegal stock of 300 quarters of country-made liquor in six cartons. District Excise Department has registered a case under sections 34(1)A of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act – 1915 against the house owner Lallu Barman, while further investigations are underway to ascertain the reason behind possessing illegal stock of country-made liquor.
 
The accused was apprehended with active working of Excise Department team led by Assistant District Excise Officer, Indrajeet Tiwari, Satish Khamparia, Sant Lal Maravi, Ashok Singh Baghel, Phool Singh and Ganesh Singh.
