MP IAS Officers’ Assn launches book ‘The Steel Frame:-A history of the IAS’

The MP IAS Officers’ Association organised book launch event on Saturday. Book titled The Steel Frame:-A history of the IAS written by Dr Deepak Gupta was discussed in the event organised at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management. Former Director of Union Public Service Commission and 1974 batch officer of Indian Administrative Services, Dr Deepak Gupta said that the officers of the Civil Services are responsible for the implementation of the plans, policies and programs. He said that a Civil Servant should work effectively in order to work as per the relevant advice and law to the government. This programme was organised under the ‘Meet the Author ‘series which was organised by MP IAS Officer’s association in collaboration with ‘Club literati’ and ‘The Saturday Club’.
 
In book written by Dr Gupta, changes made during the British government from Indian Civil Services to Indian Administrative Service in Independent India have been outlined in separate chapters in the book. In the beginning of the program Anita Das, President of The Saturday Club presented the welcome address. Dr Seema Riazada, President of Club Literature, introduced the author of the book and the officials discussing the book. Dr Raizada said that Dr Deepak Gupta has done research in relation to the Indian Civil Services and has presented the book in a very good way .
 
He has studied many books written on the officers of the Indian Administrative Service and prepared a book that the officers and intellectuals of all civil services should read. During the discussion, the former IAS Atul Sinha, G V Rashmi and Tejasavi Ravi Nayak highlighted various dimensions of the book. These officers expressed the important parts of the book and the author’s ideas in the program. In the programme, the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Public service Management Department Ashok Varnawal, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) President Anthony D’Sa were also present. Dr Sanjay Goyal, Secretary, MPIAS Officers Association, Bhopal, expressed gratitude to the guests and presented a souvenir to Dr Deepak Gupta on behalf of the IAS Association.
