Bodh Singh Bhagat yet to adhere to party’s decision

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is finding itself in an embarrassing situation as Members of Parliament from Shahdol and Balaghat, Gyan Singh and Bodh Singh Bhagat are breathing fire after denial of Lok Sabha tickets to them. BJP is trying hard to convince them but to no avail. Gyan Singh is dejected after BJP gave ticket to new entrant into party, Hemadri Singh. Before joining BJP, Hemadri Singh was in Congress party. This is the thing which has hurt Gyan Singh deeply.

“I welcome her entrance into party but its unfair that she gets ticket on joining the party. First she should understand the fabric of party,” said Gyan Singh to ‘The Hitavada’ “I want to fight Lok Sabha election for the last time and party should tell me that what is the fault of mine that Lok Sabha ticket has been denied to me. There is no allegation against me and I am taintless. Still I plough the field and lives in a house having cover of earthen tiles. I have told to party that if ticket is not changed then party will lose election in Shahdol,” he said. He further said “Party can take in written from me that I will not contest the next election but this is my last chance to contest the election. I will submit the nomination papers in the name of party itself,” he added. When asked that what if party does not recognise him as candidate and refuse to give ‘B’ form to him, he told “Then I will sit at home and party will lose the election.”

He claimed that “I have public support, I don’t have money nor muscle power. Party leaders are contacting me frequently but I have made it clear to them that if ticket is not changed then party will lose the election”. The efforts were made to contact Bodh Singh Bhagat also but his mobile was coming out of reach. Bodh Singh Bhagat is having grudge against former minister Gauri Shankar Bisen and he thinks that it is due to Gauri Shankar Bisen that his ticket has been cut by party. Notably, Gauri Shankar Bisen was trying to get Balaghat Lok Sabha ticket to his daughter Mausam. Local BJP unit of Balaghat fathoms that it is due to the in-fighting between Bodh Singh Bhagat and Gauri Shankar Bisen that party opted for alternative candidate in the form of Dhal Singh.
