Income Tax raids at four commercial establishments

Sleuths of Income Tax Department conducted simultaneous raids at four commercial establishments in the city late on Wednesday evening. The raids were jointly conducted by Investigation Wing Jabalpur Region 1 and Jabalpur Region 2. A senior officer of Income Tax Department confirmed that the raids were conducted by separate teams led by senior officers of Income Tax Department at residence and office of Kalu Lalwani at Shanti Nagar, Anil Trading Company at Damoh Naka road, Sahiba Steels at Raddi Chowki road, Amrit Steel at Raddi Chowki, Damoh Naka road and Digambar Agency at Tularam Chowk. It may be mentioned that recently police had seized lakhs of rupees being illegally transported by youths as Hawala transaction. Scrutiny of account books and other records were underway till filing of this report.
