RMNH inaugurates temporary expo on ‘Birds of India’

Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal, inaugurated temporary painting and Model Exhibition on ‘Birds of India’ based on Avian Species of India on Wednesday in collaboration with MP State Biodiversity Board, Bhopal and Bhopal Birds, Bhopal. Professor RJ Rao, Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, was the chief guest of the programme to inaugurate the temporary exhibition. Incharge of the museum and Scientist-B Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Coordinator of the exhibition and Scientist-B Dr Beenish Rafat, Scientist-B Manik Lal Gupta, Mohd. Khalique from Bhopal Birds and Artists, and visitors were present in the programme.
 
The aim of the exhibition was to make awareness towards the bird species. Total 16 models and 25 species of birds likes Crimson Sunbird, Indian Spot Bill Duck, Himalayan Monal, Purple Sunbird, Common Kingfisher, Black hooded oriole, Golden Oriole, Baya, Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican, Sarus Crane, Rose Ringed Parakeet, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Red Crested Pochard, Northern Lapwing, Paradise Flycatcher, Orange-Headed Thrush, Indian Roller, Khalij Pheasant, Red Avadavat, House Sparrow, Tickell’s Flycatcher, Indian Pitta etc. displayed in the exhibition. Artist of the Museum Navin Kumar and Modeler Arvind Anupam made the models and paintings were made by 23 artists from Bhopal and other places of country Rajat Banke, Shipra Ramtaker, Prachi Keer, Bhawan Yadav, Ajay Verma, Tanuja Soni, Mahesh Singh Rathore, Nasreen Bano, Kanika Gupta, Ritu Tiwari, Atul Vashisth, Nishi Pathidar, Atul Patel, Aashish, Sonali Malhotra, Geetanjali, Durlabh Gupta, Aarti, Jayesh Soni, Harsh Singh, Shubham Thakur, Bharti Chouhan, Ridima Shukal and Rupal Soni displayed in the exhibition. In-charge of the museum and Scientist-B Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest, Artists, Officers and officials of museum and other invitees.
 
During his speech, chief guest Professor RJ Rao appreciated the museum to organised the exhibitions and activities and collaborative programmes towards the conservation of environment. He also told that we can connect the people towards the environment through natural history museum and this type of exhibition. Scientist-B of the museum Dr Beenish Rafat was the coordinator of the temporary exhibition.
