Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge P L Punia said that Congress party’s manifesto for Lok Sabha elections-2019 caters to all classes and the Congress government would implement minimum income guarantee scheme-‘NYAY’ if the party is voted to power. Talking to mediapersons at state party office Rajiv Bhawan here on Thursday, Punia said that under the NYAY scheme, the poorest 20 per cent families of the country would get an income support of Rs 72,000 per annum. The minimum income guarantee scheme will be helpful to make the poor people self-dependent and it will take the farmers and the poor towards “Loan Mukti”, Punia stated.
 
He said that the core of the Congress manifesto is social justice. Punia said that the Congress would focus to create employments for the youths. The party promises to ensure 34 lakh jobs in the public sector by filling four lakh central government vacancies before March 2020, persuading state governments to fill 20 lakh vacancies and creating around 10 lakh new Seva Mitra positions in Gram Panchayats and civic bodies. Fillip to private sector by rewarding businesses for job creation, employing more women and requiring businesses with over 100 employees to implement apprenticeship programme. The Congress party also promises to make school education from class 1 to class 12 in public schools free and compulsory and double the allocation for education to 6 per cent of Gross domestic product (GDP)by 2023-24.
 
The Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge said that the party promises to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill in the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha, reserving 33% seats for women in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies and reserve 33% in all posts or vacancies in the central government. The party also promises to omit Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code that defines the offence of sedition “that has been misused and has become redundant”. Section 499 will be omitted and make defamation a civil offence, he added. Talking to The Hitavada, Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge Punia claimed that the Congress would win 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
 
The Congress candidates are facing tough fight only in three Lok Sabha seats- Durg, Bilaspur and Janjgir-Champa where the party is using all its potentials to win these seats also, said Punia and added that it would be easy for the Congress party to win in the remaining eight Lok Sabha seats in the state. However the party take all seats for the Lok Sabha as challenging and the party leaders have been streamlined so that they all give their best for the party to win the elections. He also praised the Bhupesh Baghel government and said that the three months rule of the government has ensured party’s victory. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel termed the Congress party’s manifesto as the people’s voice. Cabinet Ministers Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, CPCC In-charge General Secretary Girish Dewangan, CPCC’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Rajesh Tiwari, Serjius Minj, Sushil Anand Shukla, Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari, Ramesh Warlyani and other leaders were present.
