Police bust online satta on IPL matches worth Rs 4 cr

In a major breakthrough, Lordganj police busted online satta on IPL matches worth Rs 4 crore. Police have arrested three accused and seized 32 mobile handsets, two laptops, LED television set and other electronic devices at residence of Prashant Agrawal situated at Labour Chowk in Yadav Colony. The accused have been identified as Honey alias Geet Jain (31), son of Ashok Jain, a resident of Tilak Bhumi Tallaiyya, Nitin alias Nicky Kesharwani (32), son of Badri Prasad Kesharwani, a resident of Gullaua Chowk, Garha and Raja Gupta (35), son of Ravi Gupta, resident of Aaga Chowk, Ranital. Superintendent of Police Nimish Agrawal (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Friday. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police (Jabalpur Zone) Vivek Sharma, police have started a special campaign against online satta on IPL matches under the supervision of SP Nimish Agrawal. SP Agrawal informed that during the campaign police received information about online satta on IPL matches.
 
Taking prompt action on the information, he constituted a team led by SHO of Lordganj police station S M Upadhyay. Police team raided the identified spot and nabbed three men red-handed when they were busy in taking online bookings of satta on IPL matches. Police have seized record of bookings worth Rs 4 crore, 32 mobile handsets, two laptops, LED television set, a printer, set-top box, land line phone, head phone, calculators, recording devices, two laptops, a channel box, a dongle, three copies as record diary and other electronic devices. Lordganj police have registered a case under Section 4(A) of Satta Act and Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 109 and 34 of the IPC while further investigations are underway to identify other persons working in network of online satta. Online satta was busted with active efforts of police team led by SHO S M Upadhyay including ASI Kapur Singh, Vishal Singh, Jagannath Yadav, Head Constables, Rafi Ahmed, Constables, Amit Patel, SI, Umesh Golhani, PSI, Vinay Bundela, ASI, Swarn Shila, Head Constables, Govind, Amit Singh, Jagdish Garg and Sujit Tripathi.
