Thirsty leopard found dead in field at Vidisha

Carcass of a leopard was found near a well in the field of Mohammedgarh forest area under district Vidisha on Friday. The leopard was entangled in the wire used for boundary of the field. Villagers of the area witnessed the dying leopard in field and informed the Forest Department.
 
The leopard seems to be thirsty due to which villagers offered water to the leopard for saving his life. Rescue team from Bhopal also reached the spot on Friday afternoon but the leopard was no more. Locals of the area said that leopard was thirsty. Forest officials said that carcass of the leopard has been disposed off as per NTCA guidelines and samples have been sent to the laboratory for finding out reason behind the death.
 
Officials said that the leopard might be strayed in the field in search of water. Autopsy suggested that the leopard has died of thirst and he strayed into village in search of food and water. While wandering in search of water, the leopard might be entangled in the wire used in field for boundary purpose.
