Countering allegations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi levelled against the Congress party in an election rally in Balod district of Chhattisgarh today, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel alleged that National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government failed to fulfil the promises made in the last parliamentary elections-2014 and the Government was only working to help few industrialists. Talking to mediapersons at state party office Rajiv Bhawan here on Saturday evening, President of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Baghel refuted the allegations of Prime Minister Modi, who said that the Congress government didn’t waive off farmers’ loans in the state.

Baghel claimed that over 20 lakh farmers’ loans around Rs 11,000 crore were waived off by the Congress government in Chhattisgarh in the first cabinet meeting in a bid to fulfil its poll promise. The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister further claimed that the Congress party always worked for the farmers and people from weaker sections and helped them. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Modi in his speech alleged that Congress government in Chhattisgarh is not implementing Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state.

Ayushman Bharat scheme is being implemented in the state. A total of 1155 hospitals made the claims of 89,422 patients- worth Rs 60.2 crore from September 16, 2018 to December 17, 2018 under the scheme. When the Congress government came to power, 1270 hospitals made the claim of 2,47,801 patients- worth Rs 185.50 crore from December 17, 2018 to March 31, 2019 under the scheme. In addition, the Chhattisgarh government is working for universal healthcare, he added.

The CPCC President replied the allegation of Prime Minister on running transfer industry that there are 68 elected MLAs in the Congress government and all the Congress MLAs unanimously took decision. Earlier, only CM or super CM used to take decision of transfers in Dr Raman Singh led BJP government, he said. Baghel said that he asked 20 questions to Prime Minister Modi but he didn’t reply to his queries. Baghel alleged that the NDA government is being run through “Jumla”. Baghel said that the Prime Minister Modi only raised fake allegations in Balod in his 35 minutes speech. Replying to a query, the CPCC President claimed that United Progressive Alliance would win over 300 seats across the country and form its government under the leadership of Congress National President Rahul Gandhi.
