AFTER Income Tax raid on close aides of Chief Minister Kamal Nath, politics is on the boil in Madhya Pradesh. Congress has expressed resentment by alleging that Modi Government is targeting the Opposition leaders. In a statement, Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that so far, picture related to I-T raid is not clear and once the scene is clear only then he will be able to say anything clearly. He accused the Modi Government of misusing constitutional institutions in last five years. “When they have nothing to tell on development and their achievements, then they use such tactics against opponents,” Nath said. He further said the BJP is foreseeing its defeat in Lok Sabha elections and hence such action is being done to benefit during elections.

Even in the previous election such tactics was adopted. “Many political parties and many states are testimony of such tactics done in last five years and we are also prepared for this and want fair probe in every matter. Such tactics cannot deter us,” the CM said. Congress Media Cell Chairperson Shobha Ojha said that I-T raid is an outcome of sheer frustration of Modi Government as BJP lost Assembly elections in three states.

Just before Lok Sabha elections, it is an attempt to malign image of the Congress party and to build political pressure. Firing back, Ojha questioned that three days back, Rs 1.80 crore were seized in Arunachal Pradesh and Congress had complained that this sum was supposed to be used in elections but no action was taken by the investigation agencies. She further added that it is not only the Congress but other parties too also borne the brunt of Modi Government’s vendetta politics.

She mentioned about Telgudesam Party, Trinamool Congress, DMK and others. “In the eyes of CBI, ED, I-T Department, only the Opposition people are corrupt, they do not see corruption of Chowkidar and Chor Mandli,” she rued. Ojha added if Sunday’s raid was not done with political vendetta then why raid was not conducted against Amit Shah, Jai Shah, B S Yeddyurappa, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Raman Singh and others. On the other hand, BJP took a dig at the Congress and alleged that the seized amount was meant to be used in elections. Meanwhile, BJP leader and former Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya posted a tweet over the I-T raid and said that black income done through transfer industry has been recovered from CM’s OSD. In another tweet, he said that one thing has become clear that the thieves complain against chowkidar. He also posted a picture of a suitcase stashed with currency with the tweet.
