CAIT hails BJP Sankalp Patra, due importance given to traders

CONFEDERATION of All India Traders (CAIT) has welcomed announcements made in Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sankalp Patra for trading community and said that these are important steps which CAIT was demanding since a long time. The BJP Sankalp Patra has given due importance to trading community and the declarations continued in favour of traders have sent a feeling of satisfaction among trading community across the country.
 
The trade body further said that though certain other core issues would have also been included in Sankalp Patra for which CAIT will make representation to BJP leadership. While commenting on BJP’s Sankalp Patra, CAIT National President B C Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that BJP has promised CAIT to set up a National Traders Welfare Board and a National Policy for Retail Trade which will structure the retail trade in India. Making a solemn promise for providing Accidental insurance of Rs 10 lakh to every trader registered under GST is a wise step providing economic security to traders.
 
The Sankalp Patra also promised to provide pension to traders which was a much needed step for social security of traders. Similarly, declaration of providing Vyapari Credit Card on the pattern of Kisan Credit Card is a unique plan which will make traders enable to obtain easy loans, they added. Both trade leaders said that BJP’s promise to lowering the tax rate will improve compliance and will also prove to be an encouragement to honest tax payers. CAIT is pleased to note that the BJP has also kept Start-Ups in loop by providing a Seed Start-Up Fund of Rs 20,000 crore.
 
The announcement for collateral free credit to MSME of upto Rs 50 lakh will also benefit the trading community. The BJP manifesto has also announced formation of technology centres for mentoring skills of MSMEs will scale the capabilities of traders across the country. It has also promised to simplify GST in consultation with stakeholders will further rationalise GST tax structure. The setting up of Farmers Producer Organisation will boost sentiments of trading community engaged in agricultural products. Making announcement of mandatory purchasing of 10 per cent from women entrepreneur by Government Departments will encourage more development of women entrepreneurs in the country, trade leaders Bhartia and Khandelwal added.
