BJP demands removal of DGP V K Singh

A BJP delegation, led by Prabhat Jha, reached the Election Commission office on Monday and demanded removal of Director General of Police V K Singh. BJP also demanded appointment of Special Observer and deployment of extra squad of Central Police Force. Member of Parliament Alok Sanjar, BJP Vice President Vijesh Lunawat, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, Spokesman Rahul Kothari were part of the delegation. In its complaint to the Election Commission, BJP delegation said that Income Tax Department carried out searches at many places of country on Sunday. In this connection, raids were also carried out in Bhopal and Indore. The raid was conducted against Private Secretary of CM Kamal Nath, Rajendra Mriglani, special advisor to CM, Praveen Kakkar and Kakkar’s close aide Ashwin Sharma.

When I-T officers were busy in raid at the residence of Ashwin Sharma at Platinum Plaza, a team of State police, under alleged pressure from CM and on directives of DGP V K Singh, reached there and tried to forceful entry in the apartment. CRPF personnel stopped the police team. They latter locked horns with CRPF. Citing various media reports in this regard and accusing state police team of intervening into raid exercise, BJP said that this incident gives the impression that DGP is working like Congress agent to save the close associates of CM. BJP delegation demanded that DGP should be removed immediately.
