7 out of 11 HAMAN-36 clear JEE Main

Seven out of 11 HAMAN-36 students, appeared for JEE Main Examination, cleared the entrance examination for admission in the engineering colleges. Dushyant Sahu, Roshni Verma, Ishwar Sahu, Nikhil Verma, Dewashish Patel and Vijaylaxmi Sahu in OBC category and Anil Kosle in SC category qualified the JEE examination. As many as 11 Government school students of Raipur district were picked under HAMAN-36 programme initiated by the then District Education Officer A N Banjara.
 
These students were selected for the coaching of JEE after a thorough test with the support of some teachers. The students cleared the tests were given coaching for engineering entrance examination. Over 1,100 candidates had written an entrance examination conducted under an innovative concept called HAMAN 36. The aim was to give free assistance to Government school students, coming from economically-backward families, and prepare for national level tests like NEET or JEE.
 
The students who cleared the written exam had appeared for an interview to find a place among the top 36 and get special coaching facilities. The students who can’t afford the costly books to prepare for the tests were provided with free coaching and some other facilities. The concept was developed on the lines of the famous Super 30 programme run by Anand Kumar in Patna.
 
The examination was conducted across three centres in Raipur. The ones aiming to study medical took the test from the centre at Birgaon Higher Secondary School and the ones aiming pursue engineering wrote the exam from J N Pandey Multipurpose Higher Secondary School and Shanti Nagar Girls School. Similarly, three class XII students of Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Narayanpur, has cleared the JEE Main Examination. The are Monika Sahu, Rajkumar Nireti and Somnath Mandavi.
