Ample opportunities for CAs in MSME sector: Parlewar

“Chartered accountants are the real managers of the economy,” said P M Parlewar, Director of MSME-DI, Nagpur while addressing the members of ICAI, Nagpur Chapter. He said, “CAs play major role in the development and promotion of MSME sector.” He elaborated various schemes of MSME and hope that it would give ample opportunities to chartered accountants to render their services in MSME sector. After assuming charge as Director of MSME Department, Parlewar observed that MIHAN was one of the largest SEZs in India and was taking time to establish the small and medium industries in that area.
 
Parlewar was instrumental in successfully submitting the concept paper on the basis of which Government of India, Ministry of Commerce approved to reserve 10 per cent land in each SEZ for MSMEs sector. It would have significant impact on boosting export through SEZs from MSME sector. “The benefits under SEZ scheme are substantially high and Cluster Scheme of Ministry will enable MSMEs to get multiple benefits. Till now 8 sector specific clusters have been formed in and around Nagpur,” he said. Parlewar said, MSME Ministry is committed to establish Export Facilitation Cell (EFC) in each MSME-DI all over country with single window facility.
 
The EFC will provide hand-holding support to micro and small enterprises to establish unit and run it in SEZ as hiring consultant in which CAs will play a vital role. He said, MSME Department is offering an opportunity for experienced professionals where would be empanelled as export consultants in Export Facilitation Cell where they will be required to provide services like GST registration and GST reimbursement, preparation of detailed project report, Custom Development Scheme, Export Promotion Scheme.
 
“CAs can play a major role in new innovative project-- MSME –INNO which is in collaboration with German organisation which develops incubation centres where grant of upto Rs 1 crore will be provided for start-ups as seed capital,” he said. Chairman of the session, CA Julfesh Shah said that there were several schemes launched by the Government for benefit and development of small and medium industries like Credit Linked Capital Subsidy, Cluster Development, Export Promotion, Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness, Credit Guarantee for MSME, Interest Subsidy. “CAs can play an important role for creating awareness among stakeholders. Increasing the capacity building for the MSME is the need of the hour and Government should support the MSME for the same,” he suggested.
 
“CAs are engineer for promoting MSME schemes,” said CA Suren Duragkar, Chairman of ICAI, Nagpur Branch while appreciating the contribution of MSME Department. Duragkar said, MSME Department has established lot of clusters which are well informed to the industry. Duragkar thanked Parlewar for visiting Nagpur Branch of ICAI and setting precedence to create link between CAs and MSME Department. CA Garima Gupta briefly presented role of lady entrepreneurs and their expectations from MSME Department. Sunil Khujnare, Assistant Director, MSME shed light on various schemes launched by Government. The session was co-ordinated by CA Jiten Saglani, Treasurer of Nagpur Branch. The vote of thanks was proposed by CA Saket Bagdia, Secretary of ICAI, Nagpur Branch. Present were CA Kirit Kalyani, CA Akshay Gulhane, Manish Jha and more than 150 CAs.
