Depressed over death of childhood friend, youth ends life

“Dost Zindagi Saza Thi Tere Jane Ke Bad, Aur Ye Gunah Kar Diya Maine Apno Ke Sath” Similar to the saying, succumbing to encompassing sorrow of losing the childhood friend and with guilt towards parents and the sibling, a youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging self in his house in Sector-10, Bhilai on Tuesday morning. Police sources informed that the deceased was identified as Pushpendra Dhruv (21), son of Rajeshwar Dhruv, a resident of Street-33, Sector-10, Bhilai.
 
The police said that at about 8 am on Tuesday, Pushpendra Dhruv was found hanging dead in the washroom of his house. The body was hanging with a scarf from the ceiling. According to the family members, Pushpendra’s mother Jaishree Dhruv and his sister Vibhuti Dhruv (24), were busy doing households on Tuesday morning, but suddenly they got disturbed as Pushpendra was inside the washroom for over half an hour and also not responding to knockings. With the help of neighbours the family members broke open the washroom’s door and found Pushpendra hanging from the ceiling. They immediately brought him down and rushed him to JLN Hospital, Bhilai wherein the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The police took the body into custody and preserved the same in mortuary of the hospital as the family members insisted for conducting autopsy.
 
The police recorded the unnatural death and are further investigating the matter to ascertain facts including cause of death and prevailing circumstances under which the youth took the drastic step. Rajeshwar Dhruv, the bereaved father told The Hitavada that after losing his friend Manish Mandwi in a fatal road mishap that occurred on Rajnandgaon-Balod road about a year ago, Pushpendra was apparently depressed and he had also developed some psychological disorders for which they were also consulting the psychiatrist at JLN Hospital, Bhilai. However, it was quite unexpected for them but Pushpendra had lost will to live after the tragic demise of his dearest friend Manish Mandawi. Rajeshwar Dhruv, Senior Technician, Plant Garage, BSP was attending the first shift duty when the incident occurred back at home.
