The action was taken based on the complaint filed against Bhagwan Das Israni, President of Central Sindhi Panchayat and Susheel Waswani in November last year. SHO of Bairagarh Ajay Kumar Mishra said that an audio went viral on social media on November 27, 2018, in which MLA Rameshwar Sharma who was contesting election from Huzur constituency from BJP is allegedly heard laying a conspiracy against Sindhi community and using abusive language against them, while talking to Mohar Singh alias Sonu Tomar. He said a complaint has been filed in Bairagarh police station to file FIR against Sharma.

They had submitted an affidavit of Sonu Tomar along with a pen drive of audio and other supporting documents. They have also submitted a complaint to IG Bhopal Jaideep Prasad in this regard. After that they have visited office of Chief Electoral Officer and submitted the complaint, Israni informed that the CEO has sought a report from Home Secretary in this matter. Irked over the remarks of MLA Sharma, Sindhi community members also visited BJP office and met officials and demanded that the MLA be expelled from the party for allegedly using abusive langsuage against the community.

On the other hand, the MLA also filed a complaint with the police station, claiming that the audio is fake but he never turned at Bairagarh police station to give sample of his voice for cross verification. The audio came in circulation on the day of polling when model code of conduct was in force. Therefore after probe, a case under sections 188 and 505 (2) of IPC has been registered against MLA Sharma and BJP worker Sonu Tomar.
