Head of Kalki Peeth, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that it is probably the first general election after independence that thousands of saints, who earlier used to be on the side of BJP, are standing with the Congress. The reason behind is that BJP did not fulfill promises over Ram Temple, cow protection, cleaning of Ganga, Section-370 etc.

 

Addressing a press conference at Congress office, Acharya said that he supports the candidature of Digvijay Singh in Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency. He told that Modi government brought ordinance thrice on Triple Talaq but forgot about Ram temple. Now, entire saint community is feeling cheated and this is the reason that saints have decided to support the Congress.

 

He also said that comments of PM Narendra Modi against former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi is a matter of concern. Rajiv Gandhi is a martyr and Hinduism tells that after death, animosity also ends. But PM breached the limit to target Rajiv Gandhi who is no more in this world.

 

Talking about Bhopal election, he said that election in Bhopal Parliamentary constituency will decide the course of country. He alleged that driven by fear of defeat, BJP was so much perturbed that it fielded candidate like Pragya Singh Thakur. He also said that it’s not the clothes which matter to become saint and he sees Digvijay Singh as a Sadhu who is showing all qualities which saints should have. On this occasion, ex-union minister Suresh Pachauri, Congress Media Cell Chairperson Shobha Ojha etc were also present. Suresh Pachauri refuted the claim of PM Narendra Modi against former PM Rajiv Gandhi. He said that it was rather an official visit.
