Girls should come forward to serve nation: Nirmala Sitharaman

“Every woman should be empowered today. Besides, the young girls must come forward to serve the nation”, these were the motivational words of Defence Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman during a discussion programme ‘Shakti Samvad’ organised at Manas Bhavan. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who was present as chief guest of the programme, stressed on women’s empowerment. In her address, she stated “Every woman should be empowered.
 
The army has started recruitment for women in army so maximum females should come forward for serving the nation. She said if women would be strong, aware and educated then only the country will lead to progress.” Various Government schemes for girls and women were told in the programme. The women should never step back when it comes to their family or nation. She also appealed everyone to vote because this vote will help in formation of a good Government.
 
During the programme, Vikramaditya College Principal Dr Deepika Singh gave a floral welcome to the Defence Minister of India. Dr Deepika shared the experience of hearing such impactful and motivational words from the Defence Minister. She says minister’s simplicity, patriotism and address on women’s empowerment were really exemplary. The college female staff and students were also present in the programme.
