Three arrested in loot case at Naya Raipur

Three youths allegedly involved in loot recently took place at Naya Raipur under Mandir Hasaud police limits were arrested by police on Saturday. According to police sources, the arrested were identified as Maniram Yadav (21), Raj Nishad (18), both residents of Chandi Nagar falling in limits of Telibandha police station, and Rajesh Fekar (20) of Gandhi Nagar under Pandri police limits. From the possession of arrested trio, police have recovered a mobile phone snatched from Anand Saini, identified as victim, along with motorcycle and sharp-edged weapon used in the crime.
 
Detailing about the crime, police sources added that the loot took place on May 8 when the victim along with his friend went for a ride towards Naya Raipur. On way back to the city from Naya Raipur, petrol from the vehicle got finished and the victim along with his friend started heading towards petrol pump on foot. While heading towards the petrol pump, Saini was obstructed by two masked persons and the duo demanded mobile phone from the victim for making a call.
 
When Saini refuse to give his phone, the duo not only brandished a sharp-edged weapon, they also attacked and snatched of his mobile handset. Following the compliant of Saini, Mandir Hasaud police registered an offence under Section 394 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), amounting to voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery and started investigation.
 
In a wake of the incident, police investigators collected footages from CCTV cameras installed in the area close to crime scene and closely analyzed it. Meanwhile, investigators received precise input about accused leading to arrested of Rajesh and Maniram. Based on information collected from the arrested looters, police have arrested Raj Nishad, who had been assigned the task of keeping eye on passers-by.
