Man held for creating fake FB account of girl

State Cyber Police Zone, Jabalpur nabbed the accused of creating fake Facebook account of a girl and trying to defame her over a family dispute, on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Neeraj Singh Thakur, son of Vishal Thakur, a resident of Gwari village in Patan. It may be noted that, under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur, Ankit Shukla, State Cyber Police started a campaign against persons involved in IT crime.
 
During the campaign, a girl lodged written complaint that unidentified person used her name and photo in creating a fake Facebook account and posting vulgar information about her in social media. Taking a serious note of the complaint, State Cyber Police Zone, Jabalpur registered a case under Section 66C of IT Act and started investigation into the case.
 
Investigating the case, Cyber Police succeeded in apprehending the accused named Neeraj Singh Thakur, who confessed to creating fake Facebook account in the name of woman to defame her following a family dispute. The accused was arrested with active working of police team led by Inspector, Vipin Tamrakar and comprising Sub Inspector, Shweta Singh, Constables, Ajit Gautam, Constable, Satish Chandraul and Constable, Asif Khan.
