The community of Sonar (jewellers) in association with Swarna Alankar magazine will be conducting a state-level mega event - ‘Sonar Mohatsav’ (Jewellers conclave) - here in the city on May 26. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the conclave on May 26 at Suresh Bhatt auditorium. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

 

 

 

Rajesh Rokde, Director of Rokde Jewellers is the President of Receiving Committee. Vijayrao Fadnikar, senior social worker from Pune and Director of ‘Apla Ghar’, Sudhakar Kohale, MLA and BJP City President, Girish Vyas; Krishna Khopde, both MLAs, Praveen Datke, former Mayor, will be the other guests on the occasion.

 

Mohan Seth Hiwarkar, President of All India Sonar Federation, Vilasrao Anasane, President of Akhil Malwi Sonar Mahasangh, Ramchandra Yerpude, National President of Bhartiya Swarnakar Samaj and other leaders of Swarnakar Samaj will address the gathering. An seminar on ‘Issues before the jewellery businessmen’ is scheduled at 2 pm, in which Sagar Kaigaokar, Director Kaigaokar Jewellers, Ahamadnagar, Mayur Rajendra Shahane, Nashik, Sanjay Dhomane, Wardha, Rajesh Londe, Sudhir Darodkar, Saurab Dhomane, Wardha and others will take part.

 

The second session will be women’s meet ‘Mahila Melawa’ in which All India Sonar Federation President Anita Darvekar, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Kanchan Gadkari, will be the other guest. Savita Patne will be the President of Receiving Committee.

 

The evening session will witness beauty contest, fence dress competition and other cultural events along with musical programme by Surabhi Dhomne.
