Doda Chura worth Rs 1.20 crore seized in Neemuch

Madhya Pradesh Police’s Narcotics Branch (Mandsaur) under ‘Operation Shikanja’ seized 4 tones of Doda Chura (poppy husk) from a truck in Neemuch. The cost of seized contraband is around Rs 1.20 crore. This is biggest seizure by Narcotics Wing in last four years. Notably, it is under the directives of DGP V K Singh and ADG Narcotics Ajay Kumar Sharma that State-wide Operation Shikanja is being conducted. Ajay Kumar Sharma told that it was on the basis of specific input that a truck laden with Doda Chura was intercepted at Tokda Fanta Singoli-Begu Aam Road in Neemuch. It was loaded with 200 gunny sacks of Doda Chura. The weight of seized contraband is around 4 tones and its cost is around Rs 1.20 crore. Apart from this, 40 sacks containing ‘Khal Kapasia’ were also seized. The cost of recovered Khal Kapasia is around Rs 40,000. With this, the cost of total seizure is around Rs 1.35 crore. In this connection, Narcotics Wing arrested accused Azad Mansoori of Mandsaur. He has been booked under NDPS Act.
